NBA Legend Isiah Thomas Named CEO & Vice Chairman of One World Pharma

Hemp focused pharmaceutical company One World Pharma announced that it has appointed NBA legend and international businessman Isiah Thomas as CEO and Vice Chairman of its Board of Directors. Thomas takes over from the company's Co-Founder and CEO Craig Ellins, who is expected to retire.

The appointment of Thomas comes at a pivotal time for OWP as the business embarks on the revenue inducing phase of its business plan highlighted by a CBD Distillate and CBD Crude supply agreement with Las Vegas based Hemp Inc . The companies' intent to purchase agreement was first announced in February of this year.

Mr. Thomas is the ideal person to lead us in this new phase as we commence commercial sales and revenues, lending to our cause his international business experience, myriad relationships, and commitment to winning.

From the NBA to International Entrepreneur to Cannabis

Following his NBA Hall of Fame and 2x NBA Champion playing days, Thomas founded Isiah International LLC, an investment holdings group which has direct involvement in several companies including Isiah Real Estate, a development firm specializing in commercial properties; Isiah Imports, an international champagne import company; and GRE3N Waste Removal, a provider of environmental services.

Isiah International also manages Thomas Hemp Products, a hemp and CBD company.

Earlier this year, the company announced a partnership with VESL Oils, a Colorado-based cannabis company licensed to extract CBD Oils and manufacture CBD products for sale throughout the entire United States.

In this role as OWP's CEO, Thomas has quite a challenge ahead of him as the company's stock price has fallen -85% over the past three months.

Psilocybin mushrooms contain psilocybin, psilocin, and baeocystin. These compounds interact with the serotonin receptors to control biological and neurological processes like sleep, anxiety, cognition, appetite, nausea, learning, memory, and thermoregulation.

The Ultimate Guide to THCV Strains

THC and CBD are undoubtedly the two “star” cannabinoids almost everyone knows about. But the cannabis plant, with its complexity and rich spectrum, contains many more lesser-known chemicals. While researchers find something new every day, so far we know that the cannabis plant produces at least 80-100 cannabinoids and over 300 non-cannabinoid substances.

THCV - or Tetrahydrocannabivarin - is one of those cannabinoids that are packed with benefits and yet still relatively unutilized. Here is all you need to know about this cannabinoid - and some tips to find the best THCV strains.

Indica vs Sativa: The Truth

When you walk into a dispensary, the first question you’re often asked is whether you prefer an “indica” or “sativa” strain. For years, these categories have served as shorthand for cannabis effects: sativas are described as energizing and creative, while indicas are thought to promote relaxation and sleep. But as cannabis science evolves, so does the understanding of what truly influences a cannabis experience—and it turns out that the traditional indica/sativa dichotomy might be more marketing myth than scientific fact.

This article dives into the origins of these terms, the science debunking their validity, and why a new classification system could lead to a better consumer experience.
